Bodywork healing

Moving the waters is a 1:1 bodywork and healing practice. This work is deeply rooted in the Maori bodywork & healing traditions of Mirimiri and Romiromi that were passed on to me.

In this session we listen to the rhythm and pace of your body. And reach for those places where energy got blocked and is ready to be released. It's deep tissue massage with space for stillness and breath or sound.

1 - LISTENING TO THE BODY

Your body is leading us and showing the rhythm and pace. We listen and follow what is ready to be released. There is no forcing or made up agenda.

2 - MOVING THE WATERS

During the session we tap into the water that is present in your body. Some parts flow freely, some drip slowly, some feel still or frozen. There's a world of lakes, rivers and waterfalls within us. We listen to these inner waters and gently follow the movement that wants to happen.

FAQ

HOW DOES A SESSION LOOK LIKE?

Every session is unique. We listen to what comes up and follow the flow. However, we'll start with a little talk in which you can share if some topics are calling your attention at the moment and if there's any injuries present.   During the bodywork/healing you might lay on a table, on the floor or sit on a chair. There's moments in which I'll massage the deep tissue, there also might be moments of stillness and integration. Sometimes sound is included. We end with a glass of water and cup of tea to arrive gently and notice what comes up.

WHAT DO I NEED TO WEAR?

This session happens while dressed. Make sure you wear something comfortable so your body is free to stretch or move.

IS THIS A MASSAGE?

No, it's not a relaxation massage. Yes, there is touch and bodywork.

DOES IT HURT?

A session can be intense. We reach for those places where tension is gathered in your body. Sometimes pain can come up. Often this is a sign we're reaching a threshold. And the pain wants to protect us and hold on to that what became familiar. However, we always listen to your body. If the pressure is too much or not enough, we slow down and adapt. I will ask in advance, but be sure to mention any important injuries or illnesses before we start

WHAT IF I FEEL EMOTIONAL?

During the session there's gonna be a release of energy. Every body releases in its own way. Sometimes there might be tears, sometimes there might be sound, other times there's stillness. Everything is welcome.
